Industry-university collaboration continues with signing of Shenzhen Gas agreement

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) signed a cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Gas and oversaw the unveiling of the Shenzhen Gas – SUSTech Academician Laboratory at the Shenzhen Gas headquarters.

SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Liu Ke represented SUSTech at the unveiling. Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission Liang Yongsheng led the delegation of senior government officials and corporate representatives in attendance.

Chairperson Guo Yurong spoke about SUSTech’s plans for its education and development, pointing out that scientific and technological innovation in conjunction with industry is critical to the development of higher education. She hoped that SUSTech would have close cooperation with Shenzhen Gas in order to explore a new model that serves Shenzhen’s economic and industrial development.

Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Association Lin Xiang congratulated everyone on the unveiling of this laboratory. He hoped that the laboratory would ensure that everyone would take advantage of the development opportunities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to promote scientific and technological innovation in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen Gas Chairman Li Zhen is proud to develop in-depth cooperation with SUSTech. He wants to build a leading research team in China to promote the gas industry to the smart, digital journey.

Director Liu Ke and Shenzhen Gas Vice President Yang Guang signed the “Shenzhen Gas – SUSTech Academician Laboratory” cooperation agreement. Guo Yurong and Lin Xiang both unveiled the laboratory.

The laboratory would develop into an important vehicle for scientific research and technical service innovation in the Pearl River Delta based on natural gas. This cooperation will have strategic significance to promote technological innovation and support industrial upgrading. It will also enhance SUSTech’s influence in clean energy across the Greater Bay Area.
