“My Motherland and I” flash mob video filmed at SUSTech

On the anniversary of the May 4th Movement, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) arranged a flash mob that performed “My Motherland and I.” The video featured a youthful orchestra that reflects the young and emerging energy that imbues SUSTech and Shenzhen.

The music video featured SUSTech students and staff, displaying the innovative spirit in the new era that flows through SUSTech, as part of its quest to build a world-class university, taking root in China. It is full of shots from the research laboratory, over the gorgeous green campus and throughout the hearts of every member of the SUSTech community.

The lead singers included the Department of Chemistry Head Chair Professor Zheng Zhipeng, Department of Physics Associate Professor Wang Kedong, School of Microelectronics staff member Lu Min and three students. The full SUSTech Symphony Orchestra also performed in the video.
