On the eve of the new academic year, Dean Liu Ke of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship welcomed more than 100 new students to the Masters of Engineering for a training session. Deputy Dean Deng Yonghong also attended the training session, which was hosted by fellow Deputy Dean Shao Liyang.

Dean Liu Ke welcomed the newest masters of engineering students. He said that these students would be writing the first pages of a new section of history of SUSTech. Liu Ke briefed the masters’ students about the operations of SUSTech, encouraging the new students to integrate their knowledge with the strategic needs of the Greater Bay Area and China as a whole. They should cultivate their independent thinking skills and become responsible members of society.

He then gave a widespread presentation into the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, covering its objectives, organizational structure, faculty, and platform, in order to give the freshmen an insight into the School.

Deputy Dean Shao Liyang spoke to the students about the College’s teaching work, and its unique training programs. He spent time talking about the resources available to masters’ students.

Deputy Dean Deng Yonghong provided the students with a better understanding of the numerous research opportunities available throughout SUSTech and the College, including industry-university joint laboratories and their research directions.

This meeting and training session gave the new masters’ students an opportunity to learn about SUSTech and the abundant resources available to them throughout their studies and research in Shenzhen.
