SDIM receives donation from Huijie Intelligent Control for intern base

On December 30, the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (SDIM) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) received a donation from Shenzhen Hoto Intelligent Control Technology Co., Ltd.,(Hoto). The donation is for developing the new engineering education at SDIM. Prof WU Jingshen, Dean of SDIM, Ms. TU Ronghui, Secretary-General of SUSTech Education Foundation, and Mr. DING Hongguang, Chairman of Hoto Intelligent Control Chairman were among the dignitaries in attendance.

This is the second donation SDIM has received since its establishment, with its first coming from the Haili Group in August 2019.

Ms. TU Ronghui, Secretary-General of Education Foundation, spoke glowingly about her expectations for the cooperation between Hoto and SDIM, in terms of the development of new engineering education at SUSTech.

Ms. Issey DING, President of Zhejiang Goldensea Environment Technology, congratulated SUSTech for its achievements in recent years and said that the donation from Hoto is to invest in the future of new engineering education at SUSTech. She hoped that the establishment of an internship base with SUSTech would see deeper cooperation between SUSTech and Hoto to educate innovative future leaders for the new era.

Prof WU Jingshen, Dean of SDIM, thanked Hoto for their donation and support. He pointed out that SDIM aims to develop a solution for how to upgrade the manufacturing from traditional to smart and contribute to developing the nation’s industry to a new level with the application of smart systems. He mentioned that Hoto’s vision and for-seeing development plan are the key base for this collaboration. Prof WU expected that the two parties would contribute to developing win-win partnerships between university and industry through education and industrial technology development which are in line with the needs of society and the market.

Ms. MA Ying, Deputy Dean of Shude College, introduced the facets of residential education at SUSTech. She said that she looked forward to deepening cooperation with enterprises across SUSTech under a joint training talent program that meets the needs of society.

After the ceremony, the professors and students representatives visited the workshops of Hoto.

Hoto is located in Shenzhen Nanshan Science and Technology Park, focusing on building a full product chain in areas like environmental monitoring, monitoring, and protection. Hoto is an innovative high-tech intelligent enterprise that primarily makes chips, sensor modules, integrated circuits and related core components.
