As the Class of 2020 leaves campus for the last time today, providing clean dormitories and loving notes for the incoming class of 2024, we spoke to a few students. With tears in their eyes and love in their hearts, they thanked their tutors, mentors, and classmates for the last four years of a journey that brought them all the way south.
Zihao CHEN (Zhicheng College, Department of Mathematics)
I would like to thank the Student News Agency and my classmates in the Department of Mathematics for four years together. You have left me with unforgettable memories. At the same time, I also want to thank my tutor for leading me to scientific research.
Youpheng CHHAY (Zhixin College, Department of Materials Science and Engineering)
After all these four incredible years, I have cruised through every flavor of life and met many wonderful people. I have experienced many obstacles in terms of my education, research, and campus life. I would not be able to accomplish so much without the support of my mentors on campus. I want to thank my college advisor Professor Zhongren CHEN, my college tutor Ren Yifei, and my supervisor Professor Cheng XING. My friends and classmates were also vital in providing me with the support I needed. I want to express my sincere gratitude and thankfulness to all of them, and I wish that they will always receive love, help, and good deeds from the surroundings just as they have done to me. My life should have been worse without all their support.
Ruxuan LI (Zhiren College, Department of Biomedical Engineering)
I truly hoped that I could live in SUSTech forever, but it’s time to say goodbye. I want to express my foremost gratitude to my mentors and classmates. It is you that made my college life colorful. I can hardly imagine my life without you.
Sinnarith VONG (Zhixin College, Department of Materials Science and Engineering)
Four years had flown away just in the blink of an eye, and all the memories surfaced in a flash. At this time, I finally reached the finish line, put an end to the efforts I had paid in these four years. On this occasion, I want to send my sincere thanks to everyone that taught and guided me, particularly my supervisors, Professors Fuzeng REN and Zhongren CHEN. They both helped, encouraged, and inspired me during my hard time. To my fellow junior students, enjoy every moment at SUSTech, don’t be hesitate to try new things and challenge yourself. Take your first step, and you will realize that no matter how hard it is, you can still overcome it.
Zijian ZHANG (Shuren College, Department of Physics)
I want to thank my tutor, Associate Professor Man-Hong YUNG, for his generous support to me, no matter academically or spiritually. I would also like to thank my classmates and friends in SUSTech for accompanying. I really enjoyed the time with you all and will treasure the attitude about life we learn from each other.
Xinyi ZHOU (Zhicheng College, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
I want to thank my supervisor Koko (Associate Professor Aung Ko Ko Kyaw), in the past two years. Though we had difficulty communicating because of our language barriers at the beginning, I enjoyed every chat and learned a lot from his group.
