On November 22, well-known sculptor and Curator of the National Art Museum of China Weishan WU gave a lecture on “the voice of sculpture at different times” in the 264th SUSTech lecture. The lecture was hosted by University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI.

Weishan WU shared with students and faculty his decades of creative practice and analyzed his works. He said that his original aspiration of creating is to set up monuments of the times and record Chinese stories.

Weishan WU expressed his hope that SUSTech students would make unremitting efforts for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, win honor for the country in their own scientific field with the spirit of artistic self-cultivation, and make great contributions to historical development and human progress.

After the lecture, many students and faculty said that they were impressed by Curator WU’s love for art and for the nation and would follow his advice to contribute to the nation with what they do best.
