Deputy Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission visits SUSTech

On December 8, a delegation led by Deputy Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Wei SU visited SUSTech. They were accompanied by SUSTech President Qikun XUE and Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG.

Wei SU spoke highly of the rapid and high-quality development of SUSTech within such a short period. He affirmed the University’s efforts in the commercialization of fuel cell through independent research and development, and deeply understood the technology and innovation of Haijiang WANG’s ( Professor of Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering) team in the field of fuel cell core components.

President XUE expressed his gratitude to NDRC for their long-term concern and support for the University. He said that it is SUSTech’s responsibility to promote the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. SUSTech will closely integrate its planning with the national, provincial, and municipal development strategies to promote the sustained and high-quality development of scientific research, personnel training, scientific and technological innovation, and discipline construction.

Haijiang WANG introduced the core materials, stack, and system of fuel cell and the breakthrough achievements of his team in carbon paper, proton membrane, and stack technology as well as the status quo of industrialization.

Before the meeting, the delegation visited SUSTech’s 3D campus construction planning sand table and Shenzhen Municipal Key Laboratory of Hydrogen Energy.
