On December 23, SUSTech Lecture-A Violin Masterclass with LU Siqing was held in the SUSTech Convention Center. World-famous violinist Siqing LU came to the 270th SUSTech Lecture Series and communicated with students and faculty. University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI and faculty members and students joined in the music class.
Students of SUSTech and The High School Affiliated to SUSTech and SUSTech professors performed on the stage and received the careful guidance of Siqing LU. During the one-hour masterclass, faculty and students held their breath to observe the students and the master’s demeanor. LU also expressed his appreciation for the culture and art of the University.
“Any piece of music performance requires both technique and emotion. Even if it is a simple tune, it’s hard to express the inner feelings of the song only with the technique you’ve learned,” said Siqing LU. He demonstrated and explained in detail the key points of the repertoire. He said that he would rather use music to move the audience than the technique.
In the questioning session, Siqing LU interacted with faculty members and students in a warm atmosphere.
