SUSTech’s School of Life Sciences and HSAS cooperate to cultivate innovative talents

On the afternoon of January 8, 2021, the School of Life Sciences of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and the High School Affiliated to Southern University of Science and Technology (HSAS) held a two-way opening ceremony to promote the cultivation of innovative talents in the field of life sciences. Mingjie ZHANG, Dean of the School of Life Sciences at SUSTech, attended the ceremony and gave a lecture to the faculty members and students.

At the ceremony, Peidong WANG, Principal of HSAS, introduced the current state of affairs of the school. This event marked an important step taken by HSAS and SUSTech on the road of “High School-University talent cultivation”. Mingjie ZHANG was appointed a member of the Academic Committee of HSAS, and Peidong WANG presented a document to him to confirm the appointment.

After the ceremony, Dean ZHANG gave a popular science lecture entitled “Exploring the Mysteries of the Brain” to all teachers and students in attendance. The lecture ignited their interest in life sciences, encouraged the high school students to expand their scientific horizons, and stimulated their desire for cutting-edge research in life sciences.
