On January 26, the first Academic Committee meeting of 2021 of the High School Affiliated to Southern University of Science and Technology (HSAS) was held. Qikun XUE, President of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Honorary Chairman of the Academic Committee of HSAS, and Dongxiao ZHANG, Vice President and Chairman of the Academic Committee of HSAS, attended the meeting.

President Qikun XUE delivered a speech at the meeting. He noted that the establishment of the Academic Committee of HSAS reflects the higher pursuit of basic education and it’s an innovative approach high school and university level education. He hopes that this meeting will provide ideas, understanding, and specific measures for the development of the HSAS.

Dongxiao ZHANG said that the HSAS is an important link in the integrity of SUSTech’s talent cultivation and hopes that the School can contribute towards basic education in Shenzhen. He noted that the University will also provide support in all aspects for the development of the High School.

Peidong WANG, Principal of HSAS, reported on the work of HSAS and thanked the Academic Committee for its continuous support. She said that the School looks forwards to stronger cooperation with SUSTech and cultivating superior talents for the future in technological innovation.

The Academic Committee of HSAS has gathered multiple academicians at home and abroad and nearly 150 experts and scholars from SUSTech. Under the guidance of these academic leaders, they will strive to make HSAS a world-class academic research-oriented high school.
