Delegation from Jilin University of Arts visits SUSTech

On April 24, 2023, Donghang ZHANG, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Jilin University of Arts, and his delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson of SUSTech, and heads of related departments held discussions with the guests.

Chairperson Fengliang LI gave a brief introduction on the progress of SUSTech, its party building, and its development as a “Double First-Class” university. He said that the Jilin University of Arts has a long history, rich heritage, distinctive features, outstanding contributions, and is a base for inheriting China’s traditional culture.

He hopes that both parties will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges, introduce more cultural resources to SUSTech, enrich the cultural brand, improve the effectiveness of cultural education, and jointly explore the path of cultural innovation and development in universities.

Donghang ZHANG acknowledged the rapid and high-quality development of SUSTech. He said that as a university of science and engineering, SUSTech’s campus culture development is very impressive.

He emphasized that science, technology, and art complement each other. He said the two sides would further strengthen collaboration and exchanges, deepen interaction in cultural education and develop cultural platforms, and further explore the path of cultural development that combines science, technology, and art.

At the meeting, Hui LIU, Director of the Center for the Arts at SUSTech, spoke about the development of the campus culture and aesthetic education at SUSTech.

During their visit, Donghang ZHANG and his delegation were also given a guided tour of the campus, visiting locations such as the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements.
