On March 11, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and China Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The signing ceremony was attended by Tongzhou WANG, Party Secretary and Chairman of CCCC; Minshan PEI, Deputy General Manager of CCCC; Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech; and Hongwei FANG, Vice President and Provost of SUSTech, along with representatives from both institutions.
Tongzhou WANG provided an overview of CCCC’s development, highlighting the company’s strong commitment to scientific and technological innovation. He emphasized that scientific and technological progress is a key driver of CCCC’s future growth, with a particular focus on advancing green and low-carbon technologies.
Recognizing SUSTech as a leading hub of international innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, he expressed his hope that both parties would closely align with national strategic priorities, leverage their respective strengths, and collaborate on cutting-edge research in areas such as green technology. He also underscored the importance of translating major scientific breakthroughs into practical applications and cultivating globally minded, innovative professionals. Together, he envisioned building a model for deep integration across academia, industry, research, and application.
Qikun XUE introduced SUSTech and its mission, noting that the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement represents a significant step in advancing national priorities in technological innovation, industrial development, and the integration of education and science and technology talents.
He expressed confidence that by combining their research expertise and industry resources, SUSTech and CCCC would create strong synergies and complement each other’s strengths. Looking ahead, he hopes both sides will continue working closely to set a benchmark for university-industry collaboration and contribute to national strategic goals.
At the event, Minshan PEI and Hongwei FANG signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. The partnership will focus on comprehensive and in-depth collaboration in key areas such as scientific research, technology transfer, talent development, and green and low-carbon initiatives.
