The first Guangdong Creative Writing Award, organized by the Guangdong Writers Association, was recently announced.

Jinsong CHEN, Lecturer of the Center for Humanities at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), received the Criticism Award for his monograph “The Criticism of Beauty Seeking”.

The winning monograph, “The Criticism of Beauty Seeking”, is Jinsong CHEN’s second collection of literary criticism and was previously included in the Guangdong Young Critics Book Series. The book offers in-depth analyses of both individual authors and works, along with broader discussions on contemporary literary movements and artistic trends.

It highlights the richness and diversity of contemporary Chinese literature, featuring discussions on prominent writers such as Yan MO, Pingwa JIA, Zijian CHI, Tong SU, Jingze LI, and Xuetao SHUANG, with a particular emphasis on Guangdong-based authors. Through in-depth textual analysis and a deep understanding of his subjects, Jinsong CHEN aims to provide original insights and independent judgments.

The Guangdong Writers Association, under the Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences, is a provincial organization dedicated to advancing writing theory and education, as well as the popularization of cultural literacy.
