On January 16th, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) welcomed a delegation from Jinan University (JNU). The former University Council Chairperson and Director of Undergraduate Education Committee of JNU Wu Guoji led the JNU group, where he was met by SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang. Vice Dean of the College of Sciences and Director of the Department of Physics He Jiaqing and Vice Dean of the College of Engineering Zhang Bi were also in attendance.

In the meeting, Li Fengliang briefed the delegation from Jinan University about SUSTech’s three pillars of “research, innovation and entrepreneurship” and other innovations in the educational philosophy. He also talked about a range of other university issues. Vice Provost Huang Kefu introduced the undergraduate talent pipelines and SUSTech’s development history. Both sides discussed further about the undergraduate education reform, the English teaching model and talent cultivation.

Wu Guoji noted that they have learned a lot about talent cultivation from SUSTech, which is a young, vigorous and innovation-oriented university.

Wu Guoji and his entourage visited the 3D campus planning sand table and other places across campus to get a better understanding of SUSTech’s development and collegiate training mode of talent.
