On April 26, 2016, a delegation led by Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Council Chairman Li Ming received the guests. Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary General of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and Gao Zhan, Deputy Director of the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality were involved in the visit. Han Wei, Deputy Director of Preparation Office and the relevant staff of the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation attended the meeting.

Li introduced SUSTech’s successful application for the status of UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation, undertaking to carry out higher education cooperation with the countries along the Maritime Silk Road under the guidance of the national strategy of “Belt and Road” and through the UNESCO platform and network, to serve national needs.

Relevant staff of the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation reported the tentative idea of cooperative programs.Wang expressed appreciation for SUSTech’s achievements in school running, offering guiding opinion on the work idea of the center.

Li said that SUSTech would earnestly comprehend relevant opinions and continue to deepen and perfect program design.
