Late last month, Associate Provost (Research & International Relations) of Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) Yeo Kiat Seng visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He was met by Vice Provost (Global Strategies) Zheng Chunmiao.

Associate Provost Yeo Kiat Seng gave an insightful lecture on the topic of “The Next Big Things in Education and Research.” He spoke about the future trends arising from the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it will impact higher education. He also spoke about new strategies in industry-university cooperation.

Following his lecture, Head of SUSTech’s Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering Rong Yiming briefed the SUTD delegation about SUSTech. SUTD Associate Provost spoke highly about SUSTech with the aim of strengthening relationships with SUSTech.

SUTD is an emerging international research-intensive university that focuses on technology and technology-based design. SUTD is the world’s first university to design and innovate in research and engineering. Over 90% of undergraduate programs were developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
