Last week saw Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) welcome Vice-Chancellor Julia Buckingham of Brunel University London to campus. Her delegation was met by SUSTech President Chen Shiyi and Vice President Teng Jinguang, among other senior leaders from across campus.

SUSTech President Chen Shiyi said that both universities had similar sets of academic disciplines and approaches to industry-university research. These are important foundations for further cooperation and exchanges, and SUSTech would welcome exchanges of all sorts with Brunel University London.

Vice Provost (Global Strategies) Zheng Chunmiao spoke about the progress made in international cooperation.

Brunel University London Vice-Chancellor Julia Buckingham praised SUSTech’s rapid development. She said that the English teaching environment and strong academic research atmosphere are important factors for establishing cooperation between the two universities. She hoped that this would see the start of more dialogue and cooperation as well as future cooperation in teaching and research.

Brunel University London is an excellent university with an international reputation for research and education. It is also one of the favorite British public universities for Chinese students. Brunel University London has three major colleges: the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences; the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences; and the College of Health and Life Sciences.
