Last week, the College of Engineering of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) worked with several local community organizations to promote further integration between SUSTech and the local community. More than 200 people attended the event, which saw Dean Xu Zhenghe of the College of Engineering and Director Chen Zhifeng of the Office of Human Resources join senior leaders from a number of local community organizations.
The integration of the integrated group seeks to transform their geographic togetherness into a resource advantage. SUSTech will also be able to use its educational disciplines to assist local industries, while encouraging its students to stay close by and provide talents to local businesses. SUSTech and the local organizations will jointly promote the transformation of research results and work together to build a core engine for the Greater Bay Area, turning a scientific research advantage into a market advantage.
Following the launch ceremony, a symposium was held that concluded that SUSTech would help high-tech enterprises in the nearby community tackle certain technical problems, while the high-tech enterprises would provide teaching and training bases for SUSTech students.
