On September 13, 2016, Zhang Bing, Mayor of Taizhou Municipality, Zhejiang Province, led a delegation to visit SUSTech. President Chen Shiyi welcomed them on behalf of SUSTech.

Chen briefed them on SUSTech’s development, talent cultivation, etc. As a new emerging university, SUSTech is commissioned to serve the society, carry out reform on China’s educational system and promote innovation. The University strives to cultivate outstanding innovative talents, and is rooted in China to build itself into a world-class university.

Zhang Bing thanked SUSTech for its warm reception. According to Zhang, although a newly-founded university, SUSTech is very promising with its own distinct features. He believes that SUSTech will become a national or even world leading university.

The delegation members include Cheng Jin, Director of the Management Committee of Circular Economy and Industry Cluster Area of Taizhou Bay, Jiang Bingfeng, Secretary General of Taizhou Municipal Government, Lin Xianjie, Deputy Secretary General of Taizhou Municipal Government and Director of Research Office of Taizhou Municipal Government, Xu Renbiao, Mayor of Wenling Municipality, Dai Guanfu, Director of Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Education, and Bao Zongren, Director of Taizhou Science and Technology Bureau.
