SUSTech’s Delegation of Student Affairs Visits New Asia College under CUHK

On October 28, 2016, the SUSTech’s delegation of student affairs paid a visit to New Asia College under Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The delegation is composed of 16 members, including Xue Zheng, head of Student Union of the SUSTech, Lu Qi, administrative vice dean of Shuren College, Lan Hai, administrative vice dean of Zhicheng College, Yang Zaiyong, administrative, vice dean of Shude College, Wang Lingjun, administrative vice dean of Zhixin College, and instructors of colleges. This delegation was warmly received by Professor Huang Naizheng, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and dean of New Asia College under CUHK, Mr. Liang Zhuonan, assistant director of Office of Academic Exchange under CUHK, and many teachers and students of New Asia College.

At the exchange meeting of both parties, Liang Zhuonan first introduced the general situation, discipline setup, academy condition, outside exchange social practice of students and so on. Then, Huang Naizheng detailed the history, tenet, facility landmark, general education, non-formal education, life in dormitory, administrative structure of the College. He said that every student here must complete 6 credits for general education course of this college, and that the College also runs a series of featured non-formal education activities, various academic activities, bi-weekly meetings, lunch/supper symposiums of students, colorful student activities. Xue Zheng and Lan Hai from the SUSTech’s delegation briefly introduced the developments of the college in SUSTech.

Soon afterwards, members of the SUSTech’s delegation communicated and discussed the dormitory management, employment practice, school tradition building and other matters with Huang Naizheng.

Both parties also mutually presented cultural souvenirs of colleges, and expressed the wish to further enhance exchanges and establish partnerships of mutual assistance and trust.

After this symposium closed, the delegation visited the student dormitory, dining room, activity room, school history museum and other student study place and service facilities of this college.
