Temple delegation visits SUSTech

On November 18, 2016, a delegation led by Martyn J. Miller, Interim Assistant Vice President of Temple University (Temple) visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Chen Shiyi, President of SUSTech, met with the delegation. Heads of the Department of Global Engagement, the Language Center, the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Finance, the Office of Education Affairs and the Graduate School attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the cooperation in undergraduate exchange, doctor education, language center construction and teacher training, discussed the fields in which cooperation can be deepened, and agreed on further cementing the cooperation in postgraduate training and continue the cooperation in undergraduate exchange. Temple attaches great importance to the cooperation with SUSTech, and is willing to support the globalization of SUSTech and deepen its cooperation with SUSTech, said Miller.

In the afternoon, the delegation communicated with Rong Yiming, Dean of Shude College and Zhixin College, as well as SUSTech’s students who studied and will study at Temple. Rong introduced SUSTech’s college system, and exchanged ideas with the delegation on the stages and primary tasks of college management and development. Miller praised the independence and outstanding communicative ability of SUSTech’s students, expressed his concern and wishes for the students bound for Temple, and welcomed them to Temple for further studies after their graduation.
