Attending the meeting for the talks were SUSTech Vice President and Dean of Graduate School Tang Tao, Director of the Residential College Han Wei, Chair of the Department of Mathematics Xia Zhihong, Chair of the Department of Mechanical Rong Yiming and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute Vice President Luo Lin. SUSTech’s top student representatives guided the visiting teachers and students around the campus, library, and teaching facilities after which the meeting started off with Tang Tao who, on behalf of SUSTech’s teachers and students, welcomed the visiting guests and gave a brief introduction of the university’s current status.

Developing closer ties between the universities would help to strengthen all parties and provide a better understanding of each other. Shenzhen being such a quickly developing city built on experimental reforms, SUSTech is truly founded in that same image and the teachers and students on both sides of the “Tsinghua University” expressed admiration for the humanistic approach and talent training. Cross-strait teachers and students plan to share, exchange and explore further the friendship established during this partnership and look forward to building closer ties with each other.
