Recently, the world famous architect and co-founder of New York based Pei Partnership Architects firm Bai Jianzhong (Chien Chung Pei) visited SUSTech, and was welcomed by President Chen Shiyi.
Chen extended his warm welcome to Mr. Bai Jianzhong and his accompanying guests, and the two sides exchanged views on architectural design in the context of SUSTech’s new construction projects. Chen said that Bai’s firm enjoys a worldwide reputation, and as the founder Bai has a rich and excellent architectural design experience. He said he hoped Bai could provide his expert advice in the future for SUSTech’s construction projects.
Bai Jianzhong is the son of Pei Ming, a Chinese-American architect known as “the last master of modern architecture”, who received the highly distinguished Pritzker Architecture Prize. Bai and his brother founded the Pei Partnership Architects firm to build on the gbreat works of their father I.M. Pei, who is famous for a number of iconic structures such as the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the Bank of China tower in Hong Kong, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, and received a large number of awards in his field for his visionnary work.
