SUSTech and PKUSZ Hospital to build clinical teaching hospital together

On July 13, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Peking University Shenzhen (PKUSZ) Hospital signed an agreement to build a clinical teaching hospital together. SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN, Acting Vice President Dongfeng GU, Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission Inspector Meihua SUN, PKUSZ Hospital President Yun CHEN, and PKUSZ Hospital Vice President Hui ZENG all attended the ceremony.

SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN and PKUSZ Hospital President Yun CHEN signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of their institutions.

Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission Inspector Meihua SUN looked forward to the outcomes from the signed cooperation agreement. She hoped that both parties would work together and integrate their high-level resources to expand their innovative development opportunities. She also anticipated that the collaboration would strengthen the creative transformation so that both parties would benefit from the agreement.

She said that the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission would fully support the cooperation between both parties by coordinating resources, supporting talent training, and technological innovation. Together, the triumvirate of parties would make significant contributions to the development of Shenzhen’s healthcare system.

SUSTech President Shiyi CHEN said that the development of the medical discipline is vital for the progress of SUSTech to become a world-class research university. The partnership with PKUSZ Hospital is the 10th collaborative teaching and research hospital of the SUSTech network. It will provide significant support for the development of SUSTech, and he hoped that this partnership will benefit all parties through improved clinical medical education and scientific research.

PKUSZ Hospital President Yun CHEN congratulated SUSTech on its achievements in recent years before talking about the development of PKUSZ Hospital. She said that PKUSZ Hospital has the resources to cooperate with SUSTech to build a high-quality clinical teaching hospital. She hoped that both parties would expand on their scientific research, educational collaboration, talent training, and transformation of achievements to contribute to the benefit of medical care for humanity.
