On November 5, 2021, Fuying TAN, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and her delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Chunmiao ZHENG, member of the Presidential Executive Council and Director of SUSTech Global, welcomed the guests and held discussions with them.

At the meeting, Chunmiao ZHENG gave a brief introduction to the University’s current state of affairs and its international collaborations. Jing LONG, Associate Director of SUSTech Global, spoke about SUSTech’s measures to attract international talents.

In her remarks, Fuying TAN discussed the latest municipal, provincial, and national policies to attract foreign talents to China.

She noted that even though the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has restricted movement and travel globally, the Shenzhen Municipal Foreign Affairs Office would continue to support SUSTech’s international exchanges and cooperation, international faculty recruitment, and plans for the return of international students.

After the meeting, Fuying TAN and her delegation also visited the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center.
