On February 7, 2022, Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, and Qikun XUE, President of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), led a leadership delegation, respectively, to visit the First Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech (Shenzhen People’s Hospital), the Second Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech (Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital), and the Third Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech. They extended New Year’s wishes to front-line medical staff working during the Spring Festival holiday.

Chairperson Fengliang LI led one team to visit the First Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech and Third Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech. He thanked all the front-line medical staff for their contributions to the development of medical and health care, training of medical talents, and their continued efforts in fighting against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

He said that SUSTech attaches great importance to its relationship with the affiliated hospitals of SUSTech in scientific research, teaching, talent training, and other areas. He hopes that both parties would strengthen communication and exchanges to meet the needs of national medical and healthcare services and make new achievements through cooperation.

At their visit to the Second Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech (Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital), President Qikun XUE and his delegation expressed their admiration and appreciation towards the medical staff on the front line battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

President XUE pointed out that SUSTech and the Second Affiliated Hospital of SUSTech would further strengthen cooperation in basic research, technology transformation, and talent employment, and assist the hospital in the prevention and treatment of the COVID-19 disease, talent training, and medical technology development.

During their visit to the three affiliated hospitals, Fengliang LI, Qikun XUE, and their delegation spoke with multiple expert doctors in their respective fields and visited various medical centers and laboratories.
