On June 15, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held its 2022 undergraduate admissions test online, which took place simultaneously in testing centers across 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities around the country. This year marks the first time that the University has adopted a full online testing approach.

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, and Hongwei FANG, Provost of SUSTech, visited the University’s central assessment site on campus. At the same time, Wensheng YAO, University Council Vice-Chairperson of SUSTech, went to Chongqing to review the examination test center at that location.

2022 marks the eleventh year that SUSTech has adopted a comprehensive evaluation and admission model based on students’ college entrance examination scores in its selection of outstanding students.

This year, the University plans to enroll 1,290 students from 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities across the country, of which 23 provinces and regions are being tested through online computer tests. In addition, applicants from Shanghai will take part in an admission interview.

The content of the test aims to examine the applicant’s skill set, such as their knowledge, literacy, problem solving, logical thinking, imagination, and communication abilities.

The number of online applications for admission to SUSTech in 2022 reached a new high, exceeding 53,000. This is an increase of nearly 9,000 compared with last year.

The University set up one central assessment site on campus, along with seven off-campus sites in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Changsha, Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, and Jinan. Almost 100 staff members helped and assisted in the smooth and efficient running of the test.
