The 2nd International Conference on Pharmacological Science (ICPS 2023) was recently held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Convention Center.
The conference was jointly sponsored by the School of Medicine at SUSTech and the Shenzhen Biomedical Promotion Association, and was chaired by Jinsong BIAN, Head of the Department of Pharmacology at SUSTech.
Almost 80 domestic and international experts and scholars presented reports, and more than 300 people participated in the on-site exchanges and discussions.
Yuyang JIANG, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress and Chairman of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Association, Dongfeng GU, Acting Vice President of SUSTech, and Mingzhao XING, Dean of the School of Medicine, attended the conference.
In his remarks at the ICPS 2023, Yuyang JIANG said that we should make full use of this valuable opportunity to broaden the horizons of international research and promote the innovation and development of biomedicine.
Dongfeng GU emphasized that it is necessary to strengthen the connection between various regions and academic groups, and provide valuable insights and theoretical guidance for academic research and scientific and technological innovation.
Mingzhao XING noted that the School of Medicine would continue to explore and promote a new model for drug research and development and clinical medicine, and contribute to the development of international medicine.
Keynote reports were also presented by academicians at the ICPS 2023, which included Baofeng YANG, former President of Harbin Medical University (HMU), Guohui SU, Dean of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Institute of Central Nervous Regeneration (GHMICR), and Youhai CHEN, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT).
Afterward, Yong JI, President of HMU, and 26 experts from 14 well-known universities domestically and internationally presented reports demonstrating their latest developments and research results in the field of pharmacology in China in recent years.
With the theme of “Leading pharmacological innovation and empowering pharmaceutical development”, ICPS 2023 covered 26 invited reports, 17 reports from the Pharmacology Research and Translational Application Committee, 46 youth forum reports, and 29 poster presentations, providing a platform for domestic and foreign experts in pharmacology and other related fields to discuss and exchange the development of disciplines.
The School of Medicine at SUSTech will continue to strengthen connections with domestic and international medical and pharmaceutical experts and make more significant contributions to human health.
