The finals of the FPGA Innovation Design Track of the 7th National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition recently concluded in Nanjing.

Undergraduate students from the School of Microelectronics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) participated in the finals and achieved remarkable results, winning two first prizes and one third prize.

This year’s competition attracted 3,308 teams from 301 universities, with 689 teams advancing to the national finals.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, two undergraduate teams from the School of Microelectronics at SUSTech were awarded first prizes for their outstanding performance. They included the “Hardened Steel” team, composed of Keyao JIANG and Jiazheng NIE, and the “OneSide” team, composed of Peixin LIU and Rongzhe WANG.

Additionally, the “Code to Success” team, composed of Jiarui MA and Yiming WANG, earned a third prize.

The National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition has been included in the “National Ranking of Competitions for University Students” by the China Association of Higher Education.

Organized by the China Education Society of Electronics, the competition aims to enhance students’ capabilities in independent innovation, engineering design, and the practical application of embedded chips, systems, and programmable logic devices. It seeks to cultivate outstanding talent with innovative thinking, teamwork skills, and the ability to solve complex engineering challenges, while promoting collaboration between universities and enterprises in talent development.

This year’s competition featured three independent tracks: The Chip Application Track, the Chip Design Track, and the FPGA Innovation Design Track.
