On January 23, 2018, Lee Kijeong, the Vice-President of Hanyang University in South Korea, led a delegation to visit SUSTech. On behalf of SUSTech, Tang Tao, the Vice-President, Hou Shengtao, the director of the Global Engagement Office, Zhao Yusheng, the director of the Research Office and Wang Quan, the deputy dean of the Graduate School, welcomed the guests. The two parties discussed the future cooperation between the two Asian universities.

Tang Tao noted that the Hanyang University and SUSTech should enhance interaction and communication, and build the partnerships in their advantageous fields. Lee Kijeong presented the strength of Hanyang University and hoped that the university would collaborate with SUSTech in programs such as student exchanges, vacation visits, and doctoral degree students joint training.
Hanyang University is a private research university in South Korea. The university established the nation’s first engineering institute (DongA Engineering Institute) in 1939 which became the founding facility of Hanyang University. It also established the first school of architecture and civil engineering in Korea.
SUSTech has already established partnerships with universities from North America, Europe, Oceania, Asia and Africa, such as Johns Hopkins University, King’s College London, The University of Sydney and so on. SUSTech will keep promoting global education by providing opportunities for current students to study, research and do internships abroad, and by admitting international students to create a diverse and global cultural environment on campus.
