On March 30th, 2018, SUSTech hosted a signing ceremony for an agreement signed with Shenzhen Research Institute for Third-Generation Semiconductor. Executive Deputy Director of China Advanced Semiconductor Industry Innovation Alliance Consultative Committee Zhao Yuhai, CASA Director-General Wu Ling, and SUSTech President Chen Shiyi attended the ceremony.

The two sides shall construct the innovation chain around industry chain. The aim is to establish an open, international, and comprehensive innovation system for the third-generation semiconductor materials. Achieving such an innovation system shall be done through resource integration and complementary advantages. Through these methods, the entire industry chain of China’s third-generation semiconductor materials can be promoted to become the global leader.

China Advanced Semiconductor Industry Innovation Alliance, SUSTech, Fudan University and other higher education institution and enterprises all worked together to establish the Shenzhen Research Institute for Third-Generation Semiconductor Materials. The Shenzhen Municipal Government strongly supported the establishment of this Center and will continue to strongly support the cultivation of innovative technological developments by high talents in Shenzhen and at SUSTech.
