First Session of South-North Bilateral Forum Held —— SUSTC Chemistry Department, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School Chemistry and Biology Department

On the afternoon of January 19, 2014, the first session of Bilateral Forum between the Chemistry Department of SUSTC & the Chemistry and Biology Department of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (“South & North Forum”) was held in Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. Academician Che Chi-Ming, Visiting Leading Professor of our chemistry department attended the academic forum.

  Academician Wu Yundong, Vice President of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, and Professor Yang Zhen, the director of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology department, warmly welcomed the members of SUSTC. Academician Wu extended his congratulations to SUSTC on the achievements we have obtained in recent years. They expected regular forums can be held to promote academic exchanges in the field of chemistry, and more cooperation about resource sharing and joint graduate programs can be expected in the future.

  In this first session of “South & North Forum”, the professors of both parties introduced their fields and ongoing research projects to enhance mutual understanding. 

  The successful academic forum provides a good platform for academic exchange, and both sides reached an agreement that the forum should be held on a regular basis.
