On June 3rd, the first overseas SUSTech alumni association was founded at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, President of Chinese Scholar and Students Association in Singapore Yue Yufeng, representatives from various SUSTech departments, and SUSTech alumni in Singapore attended the opening ceremony.
Li Fengliang, who is also the Standing Vice President of SUSTech Alumni Association, delivered the opening speech. He introduced the latest developments at SUSTech to the alumni and emphasized the irreplaceable role they play in SUSTech’s image and level of influence. Li promised to expand the alumni network in various ways and appointed Cheng Qijia and Ji Mengyu, who became the first President and Vice President of SUSTech Alumni Association in Singapore (AAS) respectively. The association flag was later raised at the venue.
Yue Yufeng congratulated on the founding of SUSTech AAS and spoke highly of the alumni communication work done by SUSTech staff. He then introduced the Chinese Scholar and Students Association in Singapore and looked forward to collaborating with SUSTech AAS in the future.
Cheng Qijia and Ji Mengyu promised to stay in contact with as many alumni as possible and establish a mutual assistance network between SUSTech and its alumni as well as among alumni.
Lastly, the alumni shared their experiences in Singapore and offered valuable suggestions to SUSTech AAS.
