On June 28, the second Strategic Forum for Innovative Hi-Tech Enterprise Talents took place at SUSTech. Hosted by Residential Colleges Director Han Wei, the attendees included President Chen Shiyi, University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, and representatives from 20 enterprises, including Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, ZTE, BYD, BGI, DJI, OCT, AMER, EVOC, Ping ‘An, SF Express, Shenzhen Metro and Hans Laser.

President Chen warmly welcomed all the enterprise representatives, saying: “Talents are the key to the sustainable development of enterprises, while high-level faculty members are the key to fostering talents at universities. Currently, SUSTech has a strong faculty team and a group of competitive students, who can contribute to your enterprises in the near future. I hope there will be more collaborations between SUSTech and your businesses, especially in setting up companies’ internship programs and entrepreneurship centers on campus.”

Following President Chen’s speech, Li Fengliang introduced SUSTech in terms of its aims, goals, innovative mission, creative strategies, recent achievements and future prospects.

Vice Dean of Graduate School Wang Yang further introduced SUSTech’s comprehensive education system for undergraduates, master’s students, and Ph.D. candidates, as well as their career choices after graduation.

Representatives of enterprises introduced their respective companies, and unanimously welcomed SUSTech students to intern at their offices. As well as agreeing with President Chen’s idea of building on-campus internship and entrepreneurship centers, enterprise representatives also offered some suggestions to SUSTech based on their own needs.
