Thursday, July 12 saw Director Chen Qing from Shenzhen’s Longhua District lead a delegation to SUSTech. The team was met by University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi.
Chen Qing and the delegation visited the 3D campus construction model and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Laboratory while learning about the second phase of campus construction and recent developments in scientific research. At the meeting that followed, both sides had extensive discussions about how to cooperate on specific issues. SUSTech Secretary-General Chen Siqi talked about how SUSTech operates, and spoke about the basic information and construction progress of the School of Medicine.
President Chen Shiyi hoped that the Longhua District Government could help in SUSTech’s further development. He also proposed sending SUSTech talents to accelerate Longhua’s economic and social advancement.
Director Chen Qing said Longhua is a major industrial area that attaches great importance to its technological innovation. It expects to cooperate further with SUSTech, “doing practical things and realizing achievements.”
Both sides negotiated and reached consensus on the form of the cooperation, while also determining the future work plans and the number of people working on each project.
