Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor of New Zealand’s University of Waikato Visits

Prof.  Alister Jones, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, from New Zealand’s University of Waikato brought a delegation to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). President Chen Shiyi and Prof. Xu Zhenghe, Dean of the College of Engineering, met the group and took them on a tour of the campus. They were told about how the University operates and the new developments going on around SUSTech.

Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on postgraduate training, undergraduate exchanges, and teacher development. They focused on the issue of joint training of talents based on the combination of production, study, and research.

Ms Sharon Calvert, Director of the International Office, and Ms Lan Mu, Associate Director of Transnational Education, were part of the delegation of University of Waikato.

SUSTech’s Associate Vice President Thomas Schneider and Dr. Li Xu, Associate Director of the Global Engagement Office, attended the meeting. Vice Dean of the Graduate School Yang Shuanghua and Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office Dr. Li Yuan also joined the meeting.
