The Taizhou-Shenzhen Innovation Center was unveiled in a ceremony of Taizhou Hall on October 24^th.

Attendees from Taizhou included Municipal Committee Secretary Chen Yijun, Deputy Mayor Rui Hong and Municipal Standing Committee member Shan Jian. Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) leadership were also in attendance, including University President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Lu Chun and University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang. Since 2017, Southern University of Science and Technology has established a good foundation of cooperation with Taizhou City. Both sides are committed to a long-term, stable and comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship based on the principle of mutual benefits.

The Taizhou-Shenzhen Innovation Center will rely on high-level scientific research achievements and high-level scientific and technological talents of SUSTech to introduce high-quality scientific research achievements. The Taizhou-Shenzhen Innovation center will carry out technological transformation and business incubation and build Taizhou into an open and innovative exchange platform with Shenzhen. Other development platforms include scientific and technological achievement transformation platforms, innovation team incubation platforms, financial investment service platforms, and the introduction of talent introduction platforms and talent enclaves.

Taizhou Municipal Committee Secretary Chen Yijun delivered a speech at the ceremony. She said that the establishment of the Taizhou·Shenzhen Innovation Center is an important step in the cooperation between SUSTech and Taizhou City. She hoped that by relying on Shenzhen’s regional advantages and SUSTech’s innovation advantages, Taizhou City would be able to cooperate to establish a regional science and technology platform integrating scientific research and development, personnel training and technology transformation.

SUSTech President Chen Shiyi expressed his gratitude to Taizhou for its support of SUSTech. He said that from the goal of developing the industrial clusters in Taizhou City, there are similar innovative, entrepreneurial spirits and beliefs between Taizhou City and SUSTech. The Taizhou·Shenzhen Innovation Center, established in cooperation with Taizhou City, will cooperate in various fields in the future to accelerate the industrial transformation, technological research, and development.

Subsequently, Chen Shiyi and Chen Yujun jointly unveiled the Taizhou·Shenzhen Innovation Center. Chen Yujun and SUSTech Director of the Office of Human Resources Chen Zhifeng conferred a commemorative plaque to the Taizhou·Shenzhen Innovation Center.

After the unveiling ceremony, Chen Yujun and his entourage visited the Taizhou·Shenzhen Innovation Center and the SUSTech Cryo-Electron Microscope Center.

Taizhou Municipal Committee Secretary-General Zhou Lingxiang, Taizhou Municipal Government Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Guobing were joined by other relevant officials in Taizhou. SUSTech Planning and Development Director Wang Susheng and SUSTech Secretary-General Chen Siqi attended the unveiling ceremony with other related department heads across SUSTech.
