In a week full of visitors, Foshan University sent a delegation to learn more about Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Foshan University Party Secretary Zeng Zheng and President Hao Zhifeng met with SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang. Senior leadership figures from both SUSTech and Foshan University also attended the meeting.

The Foshan University deputation came to learn about SUSTech’s research projects. They also wanted to understand how SUSTech had received such rapid approval for its doctoral program, the development of our new College of Engineering and the expansion of our talent pipeline.

Li Fengliang briefed the Foshan University delegation about the operation of SUSTech. He emphasized the importance of innovative development of SUSTech in areas such as institutional mechanisms, research management, campus culture, and talent training systems.

Zeng Zheng and Hao Zhifeng spoke about how Foshan University operates. They both affirmed the rapid development of SUSTech and aimed to learn from SUSTech in order to enhance their own institution.

Following the meeting, the discussion continued over a working lunch.
