Mayor of Shanxi Province’s Datong City Wu Hongwen visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) on 1^st December

He was met by SUSTech President Chen Shiyi. Senior leaders from the Datong City Municipal Government, associated government bodies and higher education institutions were members of the delegation. They were joined by SUSTech Chief Financial Officer Ye Qin and Director of Planning and Development Office Wang Susheng.

The delegation from Datong City visited the 3D campus construction planning sand table and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center. They were briefed on the overall development of SUSTech.

Chen Shiyi welcomed the deputation led by Wu Hongwen. He updated the group about SUSTech, focusing on its talent training, admissions system, scientific research platform, and international exchange.

He said that SUSTech has advantages in scientific research and technological innovation. SUSTech has also developed high-level industry-university-research cooperation. Equally, Datong City has significant energy resources. Chen Shiyi anticipated that the two sides would complement each other and deepen cooperation.

Wu Hongwen highly appreciated the achievements of SUSTech in the past few years. He hoped that SUSTech could continue their cooperation and integrate their advantages to carry out multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary collaboration. He also aimed to launch more cooperative projects in the future.
