On February 6, 2014, “SUSTC – SJU Joint Workshop onAdvanced Materials” was successfully held in SUSTC. 5 professors of Departmentof Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Engineering of Korean SJU and 7professors of our Department of Materials Science and Engineering attended thisactivity. The Joint Workshop showed the latest research progress and results inthe relevant fields, laying a good foundation for our academic exchange andcooperation in the frontier field of advanced materials.

Professor Cheng Xin, the Director of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, introduced SUSTC school-running and development situations as well as the Department’sscientific research situation. And then Associate Professor Ki – Buem Kim, theDirector of Department of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Engineering ofSJU,   introduced the framework of SJU’s Schools and Departments as well as its scientific research situation.

At the JointWorkshop, both parties respectively introduced their respective frontier issuesand the latest research progress in metal licmaterials, high molecular materials, nanophase materials, energy materials andmicro and nano-fabrication, etc. Both parties also discussed further cooperation,student exchanges, etc.

SJU is one of the key comprehensive universities, whichhave great significance in the history of Korean education，founded in 1940, it is the only systematic education institution of Korea ranging from bachelor degrees to doctorates, with verysolid economic strength. SJU now owns 15,000 students, over 460 teachers and 340 staff.
