In recent days, the College of Business Dean Wei HUANG was appointed as Talent Training and International Exchange Center Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Distribution and Exchange Technologies (National Engineering Laboratory, NEL). Dean Wei HUANG was also appointed to be responsible for the cooperation of the NEL in the Greater Bay Area.

The College of Business is the only supporting institute of the sub-branch of NEL in the Greater Bay Area. The College of Business will take advantage of the strategic policy of the Greater Bay Area and leverage the college’s strength in academic discipline to promote the academic, education, and university-industry cooperation for NEL.

National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Distribution and Exchange Technologies was established in 2017 with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). It aims to address the issues related to the sharing, exchanges, transaction, and circulation of big data and its related standards. It will also examine data quality and application requirements by setting up rules for data circulation, strengthening the security and privacy protection, develop break-through critical technology in transaction and circulation and extend the application context of the big data. It aims to develop an application and research platform for big data distribution and exchange technologies by transferring a series of critical technologies successfully, developing independent IPs and standard systems, and forming a sustainable collaborative mechanism for university-industry cooperation. All these efforts will provide technical support to big data distribution and circulation technology and industry development.
